SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED AT IRFAN COLLEGE

Scholarships are available at Irfan College from Kindergarten to Year 9. Students are entitled to one scholarship per year (the highest amount taken into account) as follows.

1. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS (ACER)

Half (50%) and full (100%) Scholarships are available based on the following considerations:(Year 4 – Year 11)

  • Students that have received 65% and below in the ACER test have not been considered for a scholarship.
  • Scholarship is based on 60% ACER and 40% overall Academic performance in all subjects.
  • A student who receives 85% – 100% in both ACER and school academic results criteria will be entitled to 100% scholarship which will cover the full school fees for the following academic year.
  • A student who receives 70% – 84% in both ACER and school academic results criteria will be entitled to 50% scholarship which will cover half of school fees for the following academic year.

2. EXEMPLARY ROLE MODEL SCHOLARSHIPS

Half (50%) Scholarships are available based on the following considerations.

  •  One male and one female student per year level will be chosen based on their discipline record first, and on all teachers’ ranking of their model Islamic behaviour.
  • Student with any detention, suspension, uniform or lateness issue will not be considered.
  • This is a conditional Scholarship and any detention, suspension, uniform or punctuality issue that becomes apparent in the year may result in loss of scholarship with immediate effect.

3. HIFZ SCHOLARSHIP

CATEGORY A: Full (100%) Hifz scholarship criteria (Kindy to Year 11)
Students who have memorised the whole Qur’an are eligible to enter. The benchmark for this category is 90% and above. Successful applicants will be tested once a year (Term 4).

CATEGORY B: HALF SCHOLARSHIP (Kindy to Year 11)
Students who have memorized 5 Juz or more (excluding Juz 29-30) are eligible to enter. The benchmark is 70% and above. Successful applicants will be tested once a year (Term 4).
